In the Covid ridden India since 2020, where space in houses is a luxury even the rich could barely afford. Over time, more enquiries started pouring in for private villas and farmhouses as a real estate choice that people began to see as long-term investments, over renting it as the perks of having your own villa or farmhouse, seemed like the better escape rather than the four walls of your house.

Demand for villas, second homes and farmhouses spiked after the lockdown opened up. The reason being maintaining social distance and getting rid of the mundane routine created the necessity and demand to go with it for having the added luxury of another abode.

Lonavala, Goa, Karjat, Igatpuri, are more than just weekend destinations for the upper elite class, they have attracted a ton of affluent buyers from various cities looking to invest or just have a vacation home at their disposal. With the third wave subsiding coupled with the recent scare of the newest variant, enquiries have started pouring in for potential buyers for holiday homes.

With the total housing sale, pre pandemic accounting to 8%, holiday homes and farmhouses, now account for 20%. Farmhouses in Delhi and neighbouring localities have a greater demand now, villas in Alibaug, Lonavala, Mahableshwar and holiday homes in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh have seen a spike in recent times too, with their buyers being residents of Tier1 cities.

With the recent work from home schedule, people can choose their place of liking to work from and with people looking at investing their money in a place where they could eventually enjoy their returns, villas, holiday homes and farmhouses are your best bet.

The demand for open spaces in Delhi, led to an increase in the prices of real estate, they have included certain areas for farmhouses in their infrastructure plan.

In other parts of India, Karjat, Khopoli, Igatpuri, outskirts of Bombay, Chennai and Bangalore have been sparking the interests of farmhouses just the same.

In the past where people had second homes as an investment for income from rent or weekend holiday homes, or create a retirement abode for you, COVID 19 changed the outlook on it all.The need of safer, cleaner and greener spaces led to the factor where you could distance in peace, luxury and comfort.

Second homes in destinations such as Goa, Dehradun and Alibaug are destinations all year round, sometimes even primary homes, but  with new WFA norms that allow you to work from anywhere. These locations are popular with luxury clients, with an extraordinary range of architectural style villas from outside in, easy connectivity back to the cities, good weather conditions, and better AQI (air quality index).
