Our journey so far…

Founded in 2018 by the Entrepreneurial Fantastic Four — Husain Khatumdi, Sohail Mirchandani, Varun Arora & Zishan Khan — with a vision to tailor the needs of holiday-goers experiencing a cozy & private stay, a home away from home. EkoStay now welcomes guests across 170+ villas in 15+ destinations spanning Maharashtra, Goa & Tamil Nadu.

2018

Where it began

EkoStay began in 2018 with just ten homes in a single destination, founded by four entrepreneurs — Husain Khatumdi, Sohail Mirchandani, Varun Arora and Zishan Khan. The idea was simple, if unproven at the time: give holiday-goers a cozy, private home away from home, and give homeowners a partner they could trust to run it well. Those first ten villas became the proving ground for everything that followed — a hospitality standard built one stay, and one happy guest, at a time.

2020

Going premium — and professional

As demand grew, so did the ambition. We introduced our Eko Gold and Eko Luxe categories, opening a premium tier for guests who wanted something more refined while giving owners of distinctive homes a way to stand apart. Behind the scenes we were proving the operating model at scale, completing 75+ full property transformations — civil, aesthetic and functional — that turned tired second homes into genuinely high-performing stays. The work did not go unnoticed, earning EkoStay its first industry recognition with a Mid-Day award.

2022

Room for everyone

We set our sights on stays the market simply did not have. By strategically adding rooms to existing properties, we launched 25+ mega-structure villas — ranging from 6 to 21 BHK — purpose-built for corporates, weddings and large groups who struggle to find a single roof big enough for everyone. Around the same time we introduced Eko Elements, a curated way to surface the standout features and experiences that make each villa distinct.

2024

Design as a system

Over these years our design thinking matured into a repeatable system. We delivered our first design-led cluster — ten villas in Ooty — built around standardised design kits and an integrated design-ops team. The results spoke for themselves: renovation timelines cut by 45–55%, capital expenditure lowered by 25–30%, and procurement time reduced by 40%. It marked a real shift, from transforming homes one at a time to scaling beautiful, consistent stays with speed and precision.

2026

Today, and what's next

Today EkoStay spans 170+ villas across 15+ destinations in Maharashtra, Goa and Tamil Nadu — a long way from those first ten homes. We crossed ₹40 crore in topline for FY 2025–26 and grew a community of members along the way. But the figures are only part of it: the real story is the countless holidays, celebrations and quiet weekends our homes have hosted — and the many still to come.
